It comes around once a year and there’s a glut of kitschy songs to go with it. We can’t walk into a shop or switch on the radio from late November without hearing Christmas songs. Love it or hate it, they’re inescapable, certainly in the western world.
But what’s the best Christmas song?
We asked a whole host of artists to help us filter out the wheat from the chaff. Check out the interview above, featuring Dry Cleaning, Hot Shorts, Serafina Steer, Asuna, Pozi and Frankie Cosmos!
What do you think? Is Paul McCartney the king of Christmas, or just plain annoying? Is ‘Fairytale Of New York’ the ultimate Christmas song, or is it an overrated, overplayed monstrosity? Does ‘Driving Home For Christmas’ drive you potty?
Furthermore, for your listening pleasure, we have compiled all our panel’s answers (that were available) on a Spotify playlist. Why not make it the perfect soundtrack to accompany your attempts to mask the rancid taste of sprouts. Or knocking over your red wine and staining the carpet while contesting a Christmas cracker.
Have the artists all seriously overlooked a classic? Let us know what you think, either here or in the Youtube comments! Also, don’t forget to subscribe to the Youtube channel for more DIY music content!
